Muhammad Illaham Ishak
My name is Muhammad Illaham Ishak the Sherpa calls me “mbro” from Malaysia tropical country no snow & its highest mountain is Mount Kinabalu Sabah 4095m. 4095m not consider as a peak in Nepal. 2011 I’ve tried to scale Mount Everest for the first time from Tibet side in “Misi Perdana De Everest Tibet organized by Persatuan kembara Negara Malaysia”. After 4 years of training but the weather & planning not so good, I turn back with my partner at 8600m after caught in storm & having a frost nip. But I remember, I saw 1 sherpa lead a climber to the top despite the bad weather.
Understood the difficulty of climbing Mount Everest after defeated. 2013 Everest Felda was launched by KE7B to bring first group of teenagers from Felda to scale the Mount Everest, and this time we decide to scale it from Nepal the normal route. Together with my partner “Everest Coach” we have 7 month to prepare 7 climbers to achieve something that they called “impossible”. Training module had been planned & all the experience shared to the climbers, nothing left from my experience. Daily training, AMS & Altitude classes talk, Basic alpine & technical climbing Lobuche & island peak were run.
April 2013, the most important decision needs to make which is one of the key to the success it is to select the “correct operator & Sherpa” for the Felda Everest Team. I contact & meet again the Sherpa I saw in front of my eyes, he is hard working & strong Sherpa and his name is “Jamling Bhote” from Everquest Expedition. With vast mountaineering experience, been guiding 6 times to everest, K2 & good communication skill we decide to be a TEAM. When we arrive at Everest Base Camp we are amaze by the setup been done by the Jamling team. As a muslim climber, Jamling help us to provide everything we need from Halal Food to prayer tent and we feel the base camp like our home in Malaysia. Everybody was very happy & enjoy at base camp enjoying movie every night during rest time. With experience sherpa provided Jamling Everquest, we have achieve all the objective during acclimatization process and the best part is we are enjoy it with friendly sherpas.
21 May 2013, Jamling select the best date for our summits day after he had meeting with other leader. After a hard and a very good weather, 6 of us reach the summit of dream “Mount Everest”. But one of the climber doesn’t make it that day due to AMS but been courage by Jamling to repeat after 1 day rest at camp4. 23 May 2013 she made it & this is the record for the biggest group summits everest in Malaysia with 7 climbers in one expedition. As a coach I dedicate this great achievement of 7 summiteers in 7 month preparation to the team & especially to the Sherpa that made this happened Mr Jamling Bhote from Everquest Expedition. No doubt he is the Sherpa leader you need; he will always be with you on the mountain to help you during your journey. Again “No Doubt” he will bring your team to the summit of Mount Everest 8848m.
Thanks Jamling see you when I see you,
